2009 Annual Media Awards


K3 Media’s efforts towards the metsdelacreme.com campaign were recognized last week at the 2009 Annual Media Awards when the announcer won the Best New Interactive Approach category.

The mission of this campaign, created by Touché! PHP for the Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec was to increase sales of table cream by associating the product to quick and easy recipes. By linking itself to popular recipe websites like recettes.qc.ca (Média Transcontinental) and thanks to a set of interactive tools, namely a widget and a Facebook application, the announcer quickly positioned cream as an essential cooking ingredient. K3 Media’s implication was at the level of the design, development and integration of theses innovative tools.

The widget is a multi-platform desktop application that provides direct access to recipes published on the recettes.qc.ca website.  One of the most interesting features of this handy tool is the recipe generator. The application can generate multiple recipes by using key ingredients suggested by the user.  In order to increase Internet presence, the widget was also made accessible online through 2 popular web portals: Netvibes and iGoogle.
The Facebook application, voted as one of the most popular recipe applications in Canada, permits the user to share, rate and discuss recipes with other users.

The development of new web technologies being part of K3’s mandate, the agency is especially proud to have participated in the success of this campaign.
